Intellectual Disability
Intellectual Disbaility is diagnosed by determining a child's IQ score, and assessing their social, conceptual and practical functioning. Either a verbal or non-verbal cognitive assessment will be administered depending on the child's presentation and/or background history.
An assessment for Intellectual Disability will consist of:
Parent initial consultation
Adaptive behaviour assessment with parent
Adaptive behaviour assessment with teacher
Rapport session with child
Cognitive assessment (verbal or non-verbal)
Liaison with teachers and other health professionals as required
Report preparation
Parent feedback consultation
